My Ram MHZ are running at 1200 but they are 2400

Hi, i have two 4GB rams 2400 MHZ.
When i see the speed from task adm i see that they are runing at 1200

But when i look at my BIOS it says that they are running at 2400.
Any idea what could be causing this?

They are reporting the same thing. 2400MTS (mega transfers / second) memory runs at a 1200Mhz clock and can transfer data twice (double data rate) per clock signal. So 2400 rated memory DOES run at 1200Mhz clock.

Shouldn't it run at 2400 MHZ instead of 1200 MHZ?
I just asked a friend that has two rams 8GB of 2133 MHZ, and when he looks at CTRL+ALT+SUPR (task adm) he see that it's running at 2133 MHZ.
Sorry for asking again, i really don't know to much about this.

It just depends on what is reporting it. The clock is 1200 but because two transfers are initiated on each clock pulse, it doubles the data rate (DDR).

Ok, so saying 1200 is ok after all. I tough that the rams were running at half speed.
I still don't understand it to well but i'm pretty sure you know better than me in this topic.
