I have 95% of my ram being taken up even though I have no tabs open, I ran a virus scan and it came up negative. I built my Pc about 2 months ago, it's relatively high end with a Gtx 1070, i5 6600k, and 16gb ddr4 2400 vengeance ram.
I go onto task manager and my cpu is running at about 10 percent, with network and disc at 0. However, my ram is constantly at about 95%. I have tried running things like razer cortex boost but they don't really help. Any ideas of what to do?

try downloading Process explorer - its a more indepth version of task manager from Microsoft. Its default view shows the process tree which displays the processes in order of control.

The column you are interested in is working set as it shows the actual ram being used by each process

run it as admin so it has full access to system. You can actually replace task manager with it if you want, its a choice in options.

Currently its google chrome at about 30%, even though i have only one tab open, and antimalware service executable at about 20% with service host local system changing. Whenever i close all my programs the last two programs just start taking more space up, so that im always running at about 95 - 96 percent.
im not really sure what a ram disc is, i just have two ram sticks of 8gb each.

I would start by getting CCleaner, run it and select Tools on the left side, then Startup
look for program "chrome" and highlight and "disable it" then reboot your pc.

do you still have that memory leaking now ?

The chrome usage is fairly normal, but the anti-malware isnt unless it has browser plugins or is performing a background operation above the norm. I would guess either malware or browser plugins are causing the high usage. Ironically some of these free AV plugins are more like malware these days.

Little bit of an update, i downloaded malwarebytes as i have just been using windows defender. i ran a full scan including rootkits and came up negative. I changed some of the settings in task manager and see that all of the task that are showing up come to a total of about 2gb. There must be some programs that arent coming up? thanks
