[SOLVED] My range extender drops the 5 Ghz frequency (2.4 Ghz stays connected) only gaming online. Please Help

Hello all. I have a TP-Link range extender (re650) that is great,but the only thing is that it drops the 5GHz frequency while gaming which causes me to get dropped from a match. The 2.4 GHz frequency stays on. It only happens during online gaming.I have the latest firmware updates and my range extender is approximately 12 feet from my router. I have an Ethernet cord going from the range extender to my PC. Any ideas how to fix this once and for all? I'm desperate because this is really frustrating. Thanks
