MSI SUPRIM Air – noticeable coil whine when moving the mouse cursor.

MSI SUPRIM Liquid – no coil whine with cursor movement, but under load the coil whine was just as bad as the air version. Also concerned about pump lifespan and general long-term reliability.

Gigabyte AORUS Air – louder cooler, higher temps compared to SUPRIM, and the coil whine wasn’t great either.

Gigabyte AORUS Xtreme Waterforce AIO – low coil whine, but again I’m worried about the AIO’s longevity.

I’m not even considering the ASUS Astral, pretty sure it will coil whine too.

So what should I go for?
Would you go for an AIO card? The Xtreme Waterforce comes with a 4-year warranty, the SUPRIM Liquid with a 3-year warranty. But is it really worth worrying about the lifespan?

I’d go for a decent headset or a less power hungry gpu, cards like the 5090 will always have some coil whine and a noticeable cooler.

Maybe a case with lots of padding and stuff? I’m using a silent base 802 that’s pretty good in that regard.

What is auros air? Are referring to the auros master air cooled. I have it and I have 0 coil wine, actually checking around experiences on other sites Reddit subs … the gigabytes seem to be the cards that have had little coil wine, although this is random. It seems coil wine is a hit or miss thing at this point.

There's something wrong with Your PSU, or a combination of HW, or You're super unlucky. I've had Astral, Suprim SOC, now I have FE and they went and go as follows, since the CW is not consistent, I'm putting it in a range.
  • Asus ROG RTX 5090 Asntral - 3 - 4,5/10, depending on framerate, App, game, etc.
  • MSi RTX 5090 Suprim SOC - 1,5 - 2,5/10, literally the most silent card I've had in years.
  • RTX 5090 FE - my unit is kind of silent and is somewhere between my Astral and Suprim SOC, so I'd give her 2,5 - 3,5 CW, fan noise is terrible though, even louder than Astral.
Anyway, don't go after AiO cards, they have horrible pump noise, all of them, You need to install them "one way" only so they can be quiet. The video is of my RTX 4090 Matrix and it was terrible card. I've had all AiO models from 4090 series and none from 5090 series, but I don't believe they fixed something. All AiO cards I've had had terrible pump noise.
