Ok so this is my problem:
I have used a rx 480 in the past, but I lend a gtx 1070 of a friend because he went on a 6 month trip around the world. I had a blast using the gtx 1070, and when he came back i gave him his gtx 1070 back. I put my rx 480 back and for the sake of it i reinstalled windows so i could get a fresh start with the rx 480. Installed drivers etc etc. The first time using it I was playing R6 and I thought I saw white artifacts. After 10 minutes of gaming my pc restarted. I thought it just was a random crash, but the pc wouldn't start with the rx 480. After inserting my old gtx 960 the pc ran completely fine.
I was really confused, so a couple days later I tried the rx 480 again but in the built in SILENT mode. It worked fine for 2 days, but suddenly while playing Rocket League the thing crashed, and it happened again. I couldn't get the thing started.
I have tried this about 5 times now and the problem persists
While using the 1070, i put the rx 480 in its own box and in anti-static plastic.
My specs:
Msi 970 gaming
Fx 8350 stock
8gb gskill red
Corsair RM1000
Powercolor RX 480 8gb red devil
840 evo 128gb
1tb seagate
Does anyone recognize this problem or know a fix? Thanks!
Justin
