Hi.

I've got a problem with my new ram. The 3600mhz 16-18-18-36 xmp doesn't work and i have never managed to oc it to "out-of-the-box" "amd ryzen ready" 3600 or higher :(
My PC specs are:

AMD Ryzen 3900x
MSI MEG X570 ACE
Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB 3600mhz (2 packages 1x8GB)

I plugged into A2 and B2 slots of my mobo. For the time being the best stable oc seems to be 3200MHz / 1T-14-16-16-16-34 on 1.38V. I also got into desktop with something like 3533MHz 1-16-18-18-19-38 with the same voltage. (I don't quite get it 'cause in msi bios there are 6 timings to set : Command Rate, tCL, tRCDRD, tRCDWR, tRP and tRAS --> https://imagebin.ca/v/4sMD05QouCyz <-- here's how it looks).
That's very frustrating as some people say they got their crucial ballistix elite even to 3733mhz 16-17-17-36-1T (http://www.relaxedtech.com/reviews/ballistix/elite-3600mhz-32gb-memory-kit/ ). I hope you can help :)

Overclocking is a silicon lottery. Current CPU and memory default frequencies are so high that overclocking gives no benefit, see benchmarks.
RAM default frequency is 2133MHz, nowhere near enough for Ryzen.

You should try setting the RAM to 1T-16-16-18-18-36 manually at 3600MHz. See if this helps. Try all different voltages, both lower ones and higher ones. It might just be a matter of getting those volts correct to get the RAM running as it was advertised.
If still no success, perhaps try returning the RAM for a replacement, and hopefully that'll work better.

Ok so a bit late but maybe this will help someone in the future with similar ram OC problems.
I contacted MSI support and finally found the answer:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hZxGielJR0ZGccaLl1TxIiPVcZY7dMi6/view?usp=drivesdk
It was only a matter od forcing 1.0000V on CPU NB/SoC voltage.
Then everything runs perfectly fine even if you leave all other bios settings as they were on default.
Hope that helps
Cheers
