Get a Radeon PCI. Keep the G400 for Work stuff Wordprocessing, Dreamweaver, Photoshop. Use the radeon for GAMES.

Or get a AGP 32mb RADEON its image quality is matrox good and blows nvidia image quality out of the water.

Its because I've had this G400 since the first time it came out (heh, back then $250 for this card was enormous!). And since I play less and less games these days I'm finding it more difficult justifying buying the latest and greatest vid card :)

Well, I have an AGP port.. and I was considering the Radeon card.. but I'm also waiting to see what their linux support looks like.

I'm tempted to go get a GeForce MX but after monitor some of the linux newsgroups I've heard that people are having issues..

Full support in the new Kernal. Im wait for Mandrake 8.0 to put my radeon in lunix action. Radeon's image quality is on the G400 level. Geforce2 series image quality sucks.

Nothing is comparable to the G400 image quality. Sorry but it's the truth. And GeForce2 image quality doesn't suck. Obviously you've never used one in your life. Radeon has a little better image quality, barely noticable.

From now on when someone asks you how fast your computer is, tell them your benchmark scores.

Which kernel? 2.4? Why would it be there? Wouldn't I have to look at the latest Xfree86 for support?

Actually, I would be quite surprised if it was fully supported, generally the newer cards are going to experience buggy performance under X (I know this from my G400 experience). That and people have been saying that ATi is terrible for linux drivers..
