My screen lighting out...

Hello everybody,


My problem, when i connect an usb key or headphones in front of my pc's, my screen lighting out...
The screen goes to sleep. I need to restart my computer...

Probably bent pin in USB port. Does it happen in other ports?

Make sure that your front panel header is in the correct place on the motherboard. Could be shorting out and causing problems.

Does the problem occur only with the headphone jack, or both USB socket and headphone jack?

The problem occur with two USB socket and headphone jack on front panel ...

OK. Tell us more about your system, especially what motherboard you have, and which case.

I have Windows XP service pack 3 and my motherboard is a ASUS M4A89GTO PRO.
I have an AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T and memory 4GO.
My tower is an Antec and i have a power supply 480W Acomax.

Difficult to fault find your front panel. Try connecting the front panel usb to a different usb riser on the motherboard (you have 4, marked '14')

If this fails, and I expect it will, consider
1. return your case to supplier as front panel defective(Recommended)
2. Purchase a PCI USB board if you need more usb ports (you have 2 PCI expansion slots)
3. use the back panel input for your headphones
