Hello i have an External Hard Drive that cant be recognized on my laptop, i've been plugging it in our tv then suddenly this afternoon it can't be read by the tv. I tried plugging it back on my laptop but my laptop cant also recognize my drive and it doesnt appear on Disk Management.. What to do? Welp Welp!

It's common for drives like this to die. You can carefully check the cords and connectors to be sure that they are connected soundly with no dust or other debris. If you have a spare cord, you might try that. If you are willing to risk destroying the drive entirely, you can attempt to take the drive out of its case and either use another case or plug it directly into a desktop computer. Some drives can be recovered this way, but not all are compatible and there is a risk of destroying the drive. The only other thing you can really do is take it to a professional for evaluation.

Hi there PharaoHell,

Is the drive powering up at all? Is the drive recognized by BIOS and Device Manager?
In case the drive is not powering up, then I guess you can try connecting it with a different USB cable(Y type of one preferably).
If the drive is not recognized by Disk Management, I doubt that you will be able to access it with any kind of software tools.

Another thing you should keep in mind is that taking the drive out of the enclosure will void the warranty(if under any).

Cheers,
