My primary screen is connected via a display port. I connected my second screen (a smart tv) via HDMI but it is not working. When I boot my pc the BIOS is however showing up on the second screen and I can also play games if I choose the screen in the settings (I tried with Assassins Creed Origins). However I can't seem to extend my desktop to the second screen. I already tried 'Windows P - Extend'. My GPU is a Geforce GTX 1060 6GB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure what you are expecting to see on that screen, since it sounds like it is already working as intended. By default Windows puts you into extended mode and you only see blackness.
If you are wanting to see your desktop icons on that screen, then you need to either put some there, or choose mirrored mode.
If you want to see the Windows Taskbar, there's a setting in the Windows Taskbar settings to allow it to be shown on the 2nd screen.
