My sound is very quiet

Its very specific and very weird because it doesn't block all sound in general. I don"t know if my theory is completely true but it just seems to be sounds around the frequency. For instance i can play music, hear the bass, hear the tune but i cant hear the voice. It's the same in fortnite i cant hear people in voice chat or discord or even in youtube videos. I tried looking for drivers but there is also a windows update which its not letting me download. Any ideas on whats going on?

A couple things you can try are:

Check to make sure the cables are plugged in all the way. Yeah I know, this is a little insulting to suggest, but it does happen, and it manifests exactly as you've described more often than not.

Make sure that your equalizer settings or environmental audio settings aren't all messed up. Somewhere in the software settings are the adjustments for this.

Make sure your speakers or headphones work on other devices. Sometimes there is a break in the wires which unbalances the impedance. This has a similar effect to not having the cable plugged in.

If those don't work drivers could... but more likely your sound device is on the fritz and you'll need to either buy a sound card or another USB audio solution.

I dont know if im using a sound card or not but im using the martius speedlink headset and the same thing happens if i plug in a subwoofer with two satellite speakers. the speaker system works fine with my phone though.

turns out my speakers work fine its just the headphones that have a problem although i havent tested it with other devices yet. If you know of any good budget headsets with mics hmu because i really need a new pair.
