Hey guys, so i have logitechs 5.1 speaker setup on my computer. I have a sound blaster card.

Just before yesterday, everything was working in 5.1 surround sound, even things that were stereo. But what i did yesterday was move my computer over to the living room and had to unplug everything, im not sure if the wires arent currently plugged in or its a software issue
but now the sound comes from my middle speaker (for most of the sound) and not from the 2 main left and right speakers!

first of all the left and right speakers were the main source before, and now there seems theres a threshhold for them to active...if theres a scene in a movie where people are talking the middle one is the only one that works, but then if theres fighting or music etc the other ones activate, and no they arent just really quiet, you can tell the speakers completely turn off (left and right ones).

Is there a small fix for this that im missing or do you think its a wiring issue?

The wires are plugged in correctly into the sound blaster card.

The only time all the speakers start working is when theres something really loud like music or a loud movie scene.

The speakers clearly work, i've gone into the playback settings and tested them and configured them.

I would verify again that the wires are plugged into the right spots, they should all be color coded. If it turns out that doesn't work and nothing on the computer hosting the sound was changed, it sounds like it may be a wire issue. Were any of the wires yanked or anything like that? If you work with the wires themselves, does the audio cut in and out?

No i pulled them all out properly.
The speakers themselves work 100% it just seems as if somehow when theyre actually playing some sort of sound the main sound comes through the middle speaker only and not the side ones(like it was before).

If the cables themselves are in good shape and nothing in the computer settings was changed for sound and nothing is plugged in incorrectly, the only other thing I can think of reinstalling the drivers for the sound card. Maybe a new driver was installed and altered the sound output.

well i just reinstalled realtek hd audio and it seems now the front speakers/middle speaker and sub work just fine but the extra side speakers in 5.1 mode dont activate.

So the cables go like this:
Green is the 2 front side speakers,
and orange is the sub and top speaker,
and the black is the 2 side speakers.

I put them all in their proper colors and the black(side speakers didnt work.) but i then switched the green and black wires (green is in black, black is in green) and the 2 side speakers now work! ( but of course the 2 front speakers dont)

so it seems its some sort of software issue,
any ideas?

If nothing was originally done to the computer before all of this, your experiment results don't make sense. If it was working fine before, I hate to say it, then something must not have been right before but you managed to get it working.

but it just doesnt make sense, the speakers work, but some sort of software issue is causing the ones in that slot not to play whatever sound I have going on...any ideas of how to manually turn it on?
