So I decided to run the CrystalDiskMark benchmark, and I wasn't pleased with the results after comparing them to the results I've found online.
My SSD is the Crucial CT480BX500SSD1 (BX500 480gb). I have it plugged into the SATA III 6.0 gb/s connector, I have AHCI enabled.
My SystemSpecs: i5-3570 - 8gb 2x4 @1600 - Windows 10 Pro - ST1000DM003-1CH162 Seagate 1tb 7200rpm 64mb Cache Storage Drive - Crucial CT480BX500SSD1 (SSD) BX500 480gb - HP Compaq Pro 6300 Motherboard
Any help is much appreciated.
Here's the results:

Here's one of the results I found online (most of them were around the same, and the SSD states that it can do 500mb ish Read/Write)

Here's the result of my HDD (Seagate 1tb 7200rpm 64mb cache) also plugged into a SATA III connector.

I have a 3 x 240Gb versions of the same drive, the OS drive gets 32-34Mb/s for 4k 1T1Q reads compared to the non OS drive getting 45Mb/s. Your results are still much lower than mine for the system drive so maybe you need the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard? Do you overprovision your drive at least 10%?(leave 10% unpartitioined).
Could also try manually running trim under 'optimize drives' in control panel.

Well I guess I will try that. Thanks

UPDATE: I downloaded the Crucial Storage Executive software, enabled Momentum Cache which basically enables Write Cache and got these results (the SSD is even running cooler):

Hope that's useful for someone. Enable write cache on your SSD.

And that cache thing is a magical misrepresentation of what the drive is actually doing.

It uses a chunk of your RAM as a cache for the SSD.
Those big numbers you're seeing is mostly your RAM, not the drive.
Yeah I did some reading about it and realized what it actually is, and the system feels even slower somehow.

Yeah I don't use that software but I do use Primocache to RAM cache reads/writes. deferring writes basically increases the io capacity of your drive and read cache reduces disk reads by over 20% in my case and I'm only dedicating 1Gb to the cache.
