My stupidity caused the psu to explode!

Basically, I opened my computer to see what components there are plugged in and then i closed everything and made sure everything is connected properly. Then i saw a switch on my psu which shows the wattage and clicked it from 230w to 115w.. BANG! a light and smoke came out, (i forgot that i have plugged my pc in) and i am not sure but I think its only the PSU that is dead since my mobo is anti-surge but aint too sure. Also, there are no sings of burns or any smell on my components. I just wanna know what could of happened. Thanks.

When you changed over to 110 V and plugged it into a 220 V outlet, it over-volted, burned up the PSU and let the magic smoke out. Hope that the PSU has a fuse and the fuse blew. Check this before you do anything else.

When something like this happens no power is transferred to the motherboard; the motherboard may be safe.

When you get your new replacement PSU, set the switch to the correct position (220 V in your case) and then place a piece of electrical tape over the switch. This is what I do in cases like this. Then no one can inadvertently change the position of the switch.
