My toshiba external hard drive not showing in my computer, when I connect it

When I connect my 500gb toshiba external hard to my computer, it shows the blue light and makes the sound that it is conneeted but I cant find it my file explorer plus the drive is making a weird clicking sound which is unusual, I noticed this problem 24hrs ago, please help

A hard drive making a clicking sound and not being able to be accessed while connect to a PC is more often than not simply a hard drive giving up the ghost.
