My TV/Monitor won't recognize my graphics card through HDMI cable

I've got a Philips(221B1TB) TV/Monitor I've been using fot the past year or so using a VGA cable(it has a VGA port). But when I tried today using an HDMI cable from my video card to the monitor, when I turn on the PC, the monitor's screen says "No Signal" and the screen would be blue all the time with that message.
Normally with the VGA cable the screen remains black when I'm turning the PC off and on.

What is the problem? Am I missing something?

I've done an experience, I connected the HDMI cable while using the VGA one to see what happened and see if I could configure my graphics card to use the HDMI. When I opened an option inside the NVIDIA Control Panel about the monitor, it had a message and a picture saying the monitor wasn't compatible with HDMI connected to my graphics card.

I guess that's it then :-(

Thank you anyway for your time.
