My ugraded windows 10 (used to be windows 7) laptop wont let me system reset???

I have a laptop that used to be windows 7 and I upgraded it to windows 10. I want to system reset this laptop but once I get to reset this pc> remove everything, I get a window saying "there was a problem resetting your pc". Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can reset the pc? I want to give the pc away as a gift so it would be ideal If it could be reset. Thank you!

Not sure what's causing the issue, but a workaround may be to download and run Nirsoft's Produkey and retrieve your current Windows 10 password. Then use Microsoft's Media Creation Tool and create a new installation USB and simply reinstall Windows 10 using the key you retrieved.
