I recently bought a USB 3.0 external harddrive its a SeaGate Expansion External Harddive 3TB. I do not think that I am getting the fast USB 3.0 Speeds. I'm connected to my Mobo which has USB 3.0, the Mobo is a MSI z87 G45 Gaming, I have updated my bios to most recent, and I have done all drivers to the most updated version.

In Bios there's no indication to enable USB 3.0 but everything in the USB menu side is on.

I am getting 14MBs transfer rate from my internal harddrive to my external harddrive.

Is this normal speeds?

I think it actually might be a driver issue like you said, I am trying to reinstall the driver but now I don't think it was ever installed in the first place. Every time I try to install it it just fails and exits out.

What can I do now?

Can you copy a movie across both ways. Just the movie. If you are copying a file with lots of small files this will reduce the transfer rate.

Can you check device manager and see what it says? You should be able to update the driver over the internet, if it thinks it has the latest version then it will not update.
