My USB device is recognized but cannot open

i play my usb with my panasonic recorder and when i try to use it with labtop
it recognized it but can not read
when i go back to recorder it didnot play also

Sounds like it jumbled the format, you can go recover the data or if not important, make sure you find a format agreeable with the recorder AND windows 7, usually Fat32 is readable by anything, anywhere.
