So my headset is a HyperX Cloud II gaming headset with virtual 7.1 surround sound. I have had this same issue occur with my previous usb powered headset, Razer Kraken 7.1 Surround Sound. I am having difficulty pinpointing exactly what is causing the issue.
The issue that is happening is my headset despite what usb port it is plugged into will continuously disconnect and reconnect. When it reconnects and grants me the ability to receive sound from whatever I am doing, it is either extremely loud or extremely quiet. It usually happens when I try to shift my body even slightly in my computer chair. And I have noticed that with my newer headset if I touch the sound controller that is powered by usb and move the wire even slightly it will immediately disconnect. This is extremely frustrating because I am tired of having to spend money on headset's when they should be working fine.
I also am not sure if the issue itself lies within my usb ports and if they are messing up the wires inside the braided cable of the headset somehow. I usually am connecting the headset to my usb ports that are part of the tower itself and that receive power and connection through the motherboard.
My PC Build is:
