My video card doesn't have dvi, trying to output in 144 fps

So my video card doesn't have dvi, it has DisplayPort and HDMI. My monitor doesn't have displayPort. They both have HDMI but I've heard HDMI can't output 144MHz. So can I get 144 fps in games or not.

I just bought them both and realized the incompatibility before they arrived,

Hdmi wont do 144hz so you'll need displayport to dvi-d duallink.

HDMI 2.0 can do 144Hz @ 1080p, but that monitor doesn't have it as an input, appears to be 1.4

DP to DVI-D (dual) or HDMI 2.0 to DVI-D (dual adapters required).

it may overclock the cable/hdmi to try to get it ??? may work , but I guess I would invest in something that will and speced for it native ??

Sorry thought that conveter cable would be able thinking since dvi can output 144hz there wouldn't be a drama, i was wrong sorry. looks like there's more involved and for a proper converter that is limited to 120hz is a bit costly. I don't think 144hz is possible. The two different brands above specifie 120hz.

Either those or find something cheaper or consider getting another monitor im afraid.

No problem, I ended up returning the monitor and got a slightly better one for about 20 more dollars and it has free sync. Thanks for the help though!

I guess if your all ways going to use a AMD card I guess that's good ?? a waste of money on that if you use NVidia . good ol' gimmickware

just get a good solid monitor 60/120 hz 1080p

Probably will, I got the rx 480 for 150 bucks, if it AMD stays in this price range with similar performance no reason to change.
