About to spend a bit over $900 AUD on a ROG Swift monitor. Figured I'd better just double check and make sure I'm 100% before I spend that sorta money.

Current GPU (though will be upgrading to a 1080ti if they're released or a Titan X if they are not) is a 770 GTX : http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-770/specifications

Monitor I'm getting : https://www.asus.com/au/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG_SWIFT_PG278Q/specifications/

Nvidia list a display port out, but it doesn't detail what version of display port that is. While the ROG Swift lists display port 1.2 as a requirement and comes with a display port cable. These are compatible right? Just making 100% sure before I pull the trigger.

And yes, I know I could get a decent IPS for that price, but speed is my #1 requirement, and TN displays are quicker.

Anyhow, with all of the similarities between GTX 770 and GTX 780/Titan, we are otherwise looking at a card that could be mistaken for Titan if not for the “GTX 770” stamped into the card’s shroud. This means that the I/O options are also identical, with a set of 8pin + 6pin power sockets providing the necessary extra power, a pair of SLI connectors allowing for up to 3-way SLI, and the NVIDIA standard display output configuration of 2x DL-DVI, 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort 1.2.

There is a good chance its on card, the standard card has it so i think its normally used as a base for the designs and if anything you will have two dp ports or more. I have 3 I think but then that is default on my card. 1080 has dp 1.4 but it doesn't say how many. It looks like 3 unless there is a combo of 1.3 & 1.4 though that would be odd.

Can't remember who said it but "When you know it is polite to ask, when you don't, it is the rule". I figure that applies doubly so when it comes to spending money. Better safe than sorry. Thanks mate. Appreciate it. Gets rid of a few days of worrying. =D
