Question My Wifi Card only connects/ shows 2.4ghz connections

I got this wifi adapter since my on board one went out a few days ago. Anyways Its advertised as a 802.11n chipset adapter which can be used for 2.4 or 5ghz connections. But this one will only connect or find 2.4ghz wifi connections. I ran CMD "netsh wlan show drivers" and it says this device does 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n. Ive tried looking for settings for this thing and all I can find are settings for 2.4ghz options. Im lost and I dont know what to do. Windows 10 network connection says im getting ~75mbs but other speed tests sites are saying im getting only 12-15mbs. Ive ordered a ethernet cable that wont be here for a while so im trying to figure this out while I have to use it.

What is the router, that you are connected to, capable of?

It has the option of 2.4 and 5Ghz. Other devices can connect to either one just fine. And even with disabling the 2.4 on my router my adapter doesn't pick up any 5ghz signals.
