My WiFi won't connect to my HP laptop after a factory system restore, it won't acknowledge the router or network, and I have updated all drivers and the network adapter specifically. I've followed tutorials on YouTube but nothing I have come across has yet worked. Currently accessing the internet via an ethernet cable connecting directly from the router to my laptop, meaning I can't go 5 feet or more away. What do I do?!

Go into your system's control panel --> device manager and verify that you do not have a yellow exclamation point next to your wireless device.
