my windows 7 says i have updates available but i cant find them

my windows update icon said it was downloading updates. it went through and downloaded and says that i have updates available but when i click on the icon to install them, it just continuously checks for updates and does nothing else. i have let it run for a full 24 hours now and still nothing. i can not find the updates that it says i have. can someone please help. this is very frustrating.

This is a typical Windows 7 bug and it usually goes away with a restart. Have you restarted within this time frame?

i did and it seemed to work...now i have over a hundred updates to install hahaha thx for the info!
