my windows activation isnt working

My windows is asking for a windows home premium product key when the one printed on the case is windows 7 profesional. please help

Does the system info screen say that you are running home or pro? Have you tried to enter/change number at the bottom where it shows the windows activation product ID? If the product key you entered doesn't work then you will have to call MS.
