Hi Peeps

Okay so when ever try to open a program such as a game it tabs itself out almost immediately even before anything loads which makes gaming impossible. Other programs such as Firefox constantly tab out and then back in then will tab out again within a few seconds, which you could understand makes it very difficult to type anything anywhere.

This issue seems to have started yesterday when i updated my GeForce Driver to 340.52 but when i re-checked the driver it appeared to have failed its installation, so i re-installed it and the tabbing didn't happen for the rest of the day. Now today its back and i have re-booted my system but its still doing it, no other windows are open and it still tabs itself out. Occasionally i will get a grace period of a few minutes and sometimes that last until shutdown but it's just weird that it tabs in and out within the first hour or so being on. So im not sure if its a rant so to speak but if it continues im sure as hell to let the amazing people know all about. So far this window (toms hardware) tab out over 100 times but halfway through it just stopped and hasn't tabbed out again.

I'm not experienced with software so please walk me through solutions as this one is rather annoying and i cant get anything done on my PC.

Thanks :)

I started in safe mode a few times to see if it would do it, all three times it didn't. Also upon re-booting after the safe modes, it appears that it isn't do it in normal mode either. Is it possible that after a long period of being shut off (7+ Hours) that it would do the tabbing out issue, least that's how its behaving at the current time. I just find it weird as i've never seen this happen before. I launched a game to confirm it and it hasn't tab out once since starting up.

But yeh safe mode it doesn't tab out at all.

Thats kinda odd. If it starts doing it again come back and I'll see if I can help you further. It could be anything from a broken keyboard to viruses to weird background applications.

I doubt its a time thing but weirder things have happened.

Yeh i'll see what happens tomorrow morning, its seems to be on the first few startups. I'll get back to you when it happens again. Thanks for the help, i'll leave this thread unanswered for now. Ty

Are you actually talking about the Window losing active status?

I had this happen with the TP-Link Wireless software running in the taskbar and have seen others on here that I've helped with that problem. If so, all that I did to fix it was to let Windows be the controller of wireless networks and not the TP-Link Wireless software program.

It seems each time it re-boots it will do it again. How do i make it so that windows has all the control over wireless networks, im not familiar on how to change it, I have windows 7. It tabs in and out so you could say loses active status, but does it constantly.

Could it be a background program that is causing this problem? If so how would i find out if it is a background program, because this problem seems to be occurring on start up of the system.

Are you using the TP-link Software? if so, the easiest thing to do is to uninstall it. It should ask you if you want to remove the driver also, and you select "no".

There are ways to tell if program in Startup (such as the wireless utility above) are causing a problem by using Msconfig and Selective startup.

I've just had this problem and I've fixed it.
When I opened my task manager, I noticed many wermgr.exe preocesses.
These processes would not close down as they kept coming back like breeding rabbits.
Now what is this process?
It's the Windows error manager. (Pour les Français: Service de rapport d’erreurs Windows)

My solution was to follow this guide.

Hope this helps :)
