Hello friends, this is a question regarding my laptop's drivers. I have recently upgraded my old laptop by adding SSD & new RAM. Then installed window 10 pro.

This is my PC configuration:

Device name desktop-PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3110M CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.88 GB usable)
Device ID ****
Product ID ****
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on ‎29-‎12-‎2021
OS build 19044.1415
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

After successful OS installed, I made window updates & it automatically installed compatible drivers too. Now My pc is working well.

But under the Window update, there is a option of additional drivers update. There I found these drivers. Check this image here: https://prnt.sc/25tnjks

My QUESTION is related to these Xeon(R) drivers. I guess these are server related drivers.

So why windows is showing them to me?

Should I installed them or not?

If you do not have any problems then do not install the drivers.

And if there are problems then do some additional research to determine if the driver is applicable to the problems.

= = = =

AKA "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I do not use any software to do automatic driver updates.

Always the chance that any given update could be wrong, unnecessary, buggy/corrupt, maybe even malware.

If an update becomes available and does provide some specific benefit then no harm in waiting a bit.

Install if and when necessary so you control the installation process - preferably after ensuring that all data is backed etc.. Just in case.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Thank you for replay. I do not have any problems, so decided to not install them. Also have previous bad experience of updating driver through 3rd party software like "Driver Easy" (After updating, it corrupted my windows & I had to reinstall again).

So I think, window may be giving wrong driver suggestion sometimes, Ex: like Xeon(R) related driver.

sad way to learn not to use them.

it says in header, only get those if you having problems

Only safe driver updaters are from motherboard makers or GPU makers.
Only driver program I use only looks, it won't install anything. Its up to user to find drivers but less chance of wrong drivers then.

Download and run Driverview - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

When you run it, go into view tab and set it to hide all Microsoft drivers, will make list shorter.
