My wireless gaming receiver won't connect to my computer.

I have installed the drivers and such, it was working perfectly last night, all of the little green lights are flashing at me as if to say haha looks like nothing at all is wrong and you're just stupid. All they do is flash though, on the receiver and the controller. I restarted my computer, tried different USB ports, uninstalled then reinstalled the drivers, checked for updates, and have googled the problem for hours. Any suggestions?

Wireless gaming receiver? Brand? Model? I don't have a crystal ball beside me . . . . Something about the operating system and the computer itself? Motherboard? CPU?
