My wireless internet isnt working

Hello,when i try to connect to my wireless it will say "decting wireless signal" and connect me, recive 1 packet and then disconnect. 2 of my friends who are good with computers cannot figure this out. please help?

Experiment with channels -- the different frequencies work better or worse depending on environs. Try disabling wireless security in the router temporarily.
