My xbox 360 can't find an ip address

I will get right to the point. Every time i try a test connection to xbox live on my 360 it will say that it can't locate my Ethernet/USB ADSL Modem's IP Address. How can i either find the IP address or Fix this problem.

Well if your swapping the modem from the PC to the 360, it will need to be reset to get a new ip address.

Buy a router, and set it up proper.
