MyPC doesnt start up after Bios Downgrade! PLS HELP!

Hello guys, today i just performed a bios downgrade using this tutorial,http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1629404 and everything looked fine, until I tried to reboot and then my sis wont do it...It just get frozen in the asus screen where says PRESS SUPR to ACCESS BIOS but I press it and nothing happens, and in the worse cases, when I try to start it up it shows me a black/dark blue screen, my sys is ASUS P8Z68 V LE CORE i5 2500k 4GB Ram, 320gb hdd, I tried removing all the parts, RAM ,CPU everything and nothing help. please help me out :D

The bottom line here is unfortunate....but simple. It's actually a No brainer....... You flashed the bios. It doen't work. You bricked your mbod. You now only have a couple of choices. if u can (unlikely) re-flash it to a good bios. Thatr again, is very unlikely, because my understanding is that you are unable to access the bios. So, you can call the manufacturer, and get a new bios chip for your mbod. i myslef had to do this once. Like most of us, I had to learn the hard way. Flashing a bios is usually not needed. Bios up-date are normally posted to fix "certain" bugs that may exist. Unless you are suffering from those bugs....Don't flash! I feel your pain! good luck

Im on it, I moved the jumpers,I removed the battery and try to start it without it, but it shows a black screen, and my keyboard is not light up, it has leds , and they are off, but fans and everything are running on

pls help here guys, I have done everything,move jumpers,take off battery, in some moment the bios started and it show me a CPU OVERCOLTAGE error...So I entered BIOS and I went to EZ Flash to install BIOS 0805 who was the previous it has... but now It doesnt boot again :S i dont understand!

As you read in the disclaimer, you probably have a dead motherboard. However you could send it back to Asus who can definitely flash a new BIOS for you. It's up to you to decide if you tell them what happened or not, but they'll probbaly figure it out on their own.

Can you explain why you had to downgrade the BIOS and why you used that risky method instead of doing it the normal way?

Hi :)

I wish people understood the risks involved in flashing ANY bios....

You can blow your motherboard and people often do.....I get LOTS of people come in my computer shops who have done this :(

My advice ...NEVER EVER try flashing your bios unless its for a VERY VERY good reason (and overclocking is NOT a good reason)

Regarding Brett's posts, I would also like to add: Overclocking your system and downgrading your bios is VERY dangerous! It can brick your motherboard!!
It's even worse if you forgot to set your bios as default when flashing your bios. :(

Because I was having some random reboots, so I figured out it was the bios update that I performed last night,so I decided to go back, and it was the only way I could do it, cause I tried by the ASUS AI suite and it didnt let me do it...:S guess I blow the mobo (crap)

This is the bit I dont understand....

WHY would you ever think that "random reboots" were caused by a bad bios ????

Take my word if you have a bad bios ...the system does NOT boot......just like you have now....

What was the previous BIOS version? You haven't told us what keyboard you use, but if it's USB, have you tried a PS2 keyboard? If a PS2 keyboard doesn't work, then you need to RMA the motherboard.

If he has blown the mobo....he needs to BUY another mobo.....

RMA is for faulty items not items that have been misused...

He doesn't necessarily have to buy a new motherboard; he can send it in to Asus to have the BIOS flashed. Unlike Intel, they may charge a fee. If you check http://support.asus.com/repair.aspx?no=568&SLanguage=en, a bad flash isn't on the list of cusomer induced damage. And it also isn't listed on this page: http://support.asus.com/warranty.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&s=39&m=P8Z68-V%20LE&os=30&hashedid=lnde37J3Fxi4e68o

Gonna talk to asus cust service, to see what they can do for me and then I decide if send it back or buy another, but for now I already know something, NEVER touch the BIOS -.- thx for all the help guys like my mom says , Screwing arround is how we learn..XD shame I have to learn this way!

I know what you are thinking, maybe it could be temps or whatever...But I checked everything, and I looked back for what I did lastly until It started with the randoms reboots, and it was the BIOS update...last thing I did...So I did what I did shame it went wrong. But I appreciate you took time to look at this topic

After flashing the latest BIOS, you probably didn't reset it to the default settings. A BIOS flash sometimes is required, but you should never use a procedure that isn't officially supported. On the other hand, you used Asus tools.
