I believe you mean Intel's Extreme Edition moniker dates back to the Pentium 4's Northwood core.

I does sound like some type of OEM chip that us PC enthusiast will never see on the open market. Too bad really. I rather like building low wattage mini ITX computers.

Howerver, AMD labeled Microsoft's APUs as "Surface Edition," not Extreme. By removing the Surface moniker from the APUs, AMD could potentially offer them to other customers as well.
