I've been looking at the Windows Task Manager's "Networking" tab lately in Windows 7, and noticed that there are about 200 bytes being sent out every 4 seconds. This is with no applications running at the time (including browsers). I've also noticed a larger amount of bytes in total, right when I have booted up the system, which is around 30K.
I was wondering, is this something "normal" for Windows 7? I've checked on an older PC running Windows XP and I don't see this behavior at all. It stays at 0 during idle, which I would have thought would be the same under Windows 7.
Is there a way for me to see what is going on, so I can see what is making it send out these mysterious bytes? I've run a virus scan and nothing popped up that looked peculiar.
