Hi 🙂

This empty folder entitled "json" appears repeatedly in my phone's default download folder (storage/emulated/0/Download)...

It's not harmful, just a minor annoyance...Can anyone help determine what's causing this and whether it's possible to stop it?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

JSON is commonly used for software / component configuration profiles as it's a standardized serializable object format. Chances are whatever's making this folder is using it to store its config files.

Why is an empty folder being created sporadically?

This process did not always occur, so what's causing it now?

Is it tied to a specific app?

How can I prevent it from reappearing after deleting it?

without root u wont know which app put it there
if it really has to go away, the you should factory reset your phone, backup your data first ofc
Rooting would void the warranty and this folder has appeared prior to and after recent hard-resets...

Anyone know of another way to determine its source?

My experience at the OnePlus community forums is that that's where inquiries go to die...

Please allow other members here the opportunity to address this inquiry, thanks.
