Hey guys, another troubleshooting post with my rig 😀 Sometimes this makes me feel like I'm bad at building PCs...
ANYWAYS, I RMA'd my graphics card (was crashing BAD!) and got my new one, and it runs like a dream, like I expected it to the first time around. So.. Whats the problem? I had noticed a couple times of returning to my computer after watching Netflix on it to be returned to the log in screen. Reluctantly I log in and disappointingly see that "Windows has recovered from an unexpected crash." Only the last couple times it's happened I wasn't here to see the bluescreen error code during the memory dump.
And it just happened again this morning. For no reason at all, my screen goes black when i'm in the middle of a YT vid and commenting on it (doing nothing else at the time.) I do run my rig almost 24/7. I passed out last night watching Family Guy on Netflix, if that is in any way a factor.
My specs:
On Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: AMD A8-3870 Llano APU @ 3.0GHz, 4 cores
Motherboard: ASUS F1a55-M LX PLUS Micro ATX
RAM: 2x4GB SUPER TALENT DDR3 @ 1333MHz
GPU: ASUS AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB DDR5 OC Edition
HDD: 1TB Barracuda 7200 RPM
Inputs: Razer Lycosa, Razer DeathAdder, X360 Controller for Windows
I'm looking at my Barracuda HDD as crapping out.. But, wondering if you guys have any thoughts on the situation? Any tools to test my HDD?
