It's as plain and simple as the title. I'll come home to my computer displaying a black screen with the error window that says "Mystify Screensaver Has Stopped Working." and an additional window popping up asking if I want to send more information to Microsoft about the issue.

Here is a photo of both error windows: http://imgur.com/ab57413d-d506-4e4f-b63c-0d8b1a95b2a0

To test it further, I went into the "Personalize" settings and previewed the screensavers and sure enough the same errors occur even when previewing them.

In addition to the screensaver errors, I have also been getting a "Com Surrogate has stopped working" error shortly after. From what I've seen, it doesn't affect the computer's performance, but both these errors are bothersome and I would like to find out what has caused these sudden problems.

Thank you.

For the Com Surrogate error:

Click on Start
Type cmd and press Enter
Make sure to run Command Prompt as administrator, right click on cmd and choose Run as Administrator
Type the following command and press enter for each one: regsvr32 vbscript.dll and regsvr32 jscript.dll
These commands will re-register a few dlls in Windows and possibly will fix COM Surrogate has stopped working error.

For the Screen Saver issue, this error usually occurs if the power settings are changed on the computer.

You may change settings in your personalization and check if it helps you fix the issue.

1. Right click on the desktop and then click on personalize.
2. In the Personalization’s window, open screen saver, select Photo.
3. Click on "Change power settings". Change to either Balanced or High Performance.
