Dante Autullo of Chicago was working in his work shop when the nail gun misfired and shot a nail of 8.25cm through his skill into his brain.

When the nail gun hit his head, the sensor sensed a flat surface and shoots a nail into his head. However, Mr Autullo though the nail gun had simple fall on his head and his fiancee, Gail Glaenzer, clean the wound for him.

Only did Mr Autullo feel nauseous for much of Wednesday did Ms Glaenzer convince him to go to the hospital. Doctors found a nail was inside the brain, within millimetres of the area used for motor function.

A 2 hours operation removed the nail in the brain and the replace the broker skull. Mr Autullo is recovering from the operation without much complication.

Good news there.

Unfortunately the damage is usually quite difficult to ascertain straight away from a simple interview with a client.

A battery of aptitude, cognitive motor, reasoning, (perhaps a WIAS) is usually required to see what damage has been done.

Just because someone says they are fine and responds well to verbal discussion does not indicate full functioning.

Sometines it is fine motor, taste, hearing, smell, colour perception, balance ... the list is exhaustive.

One of the worst is losing one's sense of humour ... or ability to respond well to emotive cues.

I wish him well.
