I'm finally putting together my water cooling set-up and I don't know what I should do with the stock case fans in the front of the case.

The items I'm working with are: 1x EK 140mm Rad, 1x EK 240mm Rad, 2x Noctua NF-P12 120mm fans, 1x Noctua NF-A14 140mm fan, and I also have the 3 original Nanoxia 140mm case fans.

I want to place the 140mm rad in the rear of the case with a 140mm fan pushing air through it and I want to place the 240mm rad in the front with the two 120mm fans pulling air through it.

I have two questions: Should I remove the 140mm case fans from the front (will the difference in size or speed cause problems with the 120mm's on the rad)? Assuming I use only the 1x 140mm in the rear (on rad) and the 2x 120mm (on rad) in the front, should I add more fans for better case air flow or will it be overkill?

Solution
Correct, it shouldn't matter, just make sure the rad fans and the front fans are pushing air out the case, both flowing in the same direction.

If you change the flow of the fans to push inside, then the heat from the rad is going to be blowing inside the case which is not a good idea.

Will the 240mm rad fit on top of the case? That current placement is not a good idea because the front fans are designed to bring cool air into the chassis. With the radiator in the front, you would want the heat to be pushed out the case through the front, so your front fans will have to be pushing out air instead of in.

No, there is not enough room. The top will only support a slim rad, unless I place the radiator outside of the case.

So it doesn't matter that there are 140mm case fans next to the rad on one side and 120mm sp fans on the rad on the other? The front is designed to bring air into the case with dust "shields"...
