Hi all, my first post on this forum.

I have moved from an Archer C9 AC 1900 router to a mesh router - the TP Link Deco M9 Plus. I am very happy with the coverage of the new setup.

However, I am running into an issue with my NAS.

The house has a 1GBps cable that terminates in a modem -its not a router. The original setup was:
Modem ---> TP Link Archer router ---> Switch -----> QNAP NAS
This allowed all devices on the network to see the NAS

With the Deco M9 Plus, I am not sure how to do this. The M9 has two Ethernet ports. I used one for input from the modem - but the second port connected to the switch and NAS does not seem to connect to the Internet.

Thanks for your help...

Solution
Well, a few tries and realized the issue was that my NAS was on different IP assigned by my previous router. So a restart of the NAS and everything is working now. So, the second port of the M9 router can serve as an outward connecting ethernet port....
Who knows what that second port does. According to their specs both ethernet ports are either lan or wan, which doesn't make any sense. This is what sucks about all this 'magic' hardware--who knows what it is really doing?

You're going to need to call tplink or wait for someone here that knows how to connect this abomination that doesn't follow any industry standards....
