Hello, how do I connect my Yamaha R-N602 receiver with my NAS Asustor 1002? I can't find the solution in any of the manuals.

Solution
Great!

In the future you can also just buy a 5 port (metal cased for cooling) simple switch for about $25 or so (and real cheap if you catch them on sale) to expand your available ports that get assigned addresses by the router DHCP/NAT.

I was afraid you wanted to run all your movie audio from stored MKVs through it -- that can be a real PITA.
You would connect both devices, preferably by Ethernet cable, to the same router.

Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? Play stored music files through the Yamaha, more?

Thanks Beast. Yes I would like to play all my music stored on the NAS via my yamaha receiver. Just now I have found a solution:)

But first the problems. Asustor 1002T has only one ethernet port, no wifi. I connected the NAS via cable with my modem. My modem is connected with a tp-link M5 router. Since I have no free ethernet ports at the nas or the router, I was trying to figure out how to connect my yamaha r-n602 receiver, there was no option to connect via cable. No manuals of either NAS or receiver where clear on how to solve this problem.

After months of searching, i just found out that I had to switch on the DNLA option on the PLEX media server on my NAS..and in a split second my receiver app could find the NAS...! Happy man here.. thanks for your prompt reply.
