NAS Build or Buy?

Moving to a new place, looking to build or buy an NAS to backup 2 Desktops and 2 Laptops, as well as stream media from the device to Xbox, Tv, other computers, etc. I loved building my PC, but an NAS looks a little more complicated (OS is way different). I want at least 8 TB of storage. Should I build or buy a system?

How much money are you willing to spend? How much time invest? And what are your skills?

If you built PC before, there would be more fun to build a NAS, i would go for Openfiler if you're using Windows Client, but FreeNAS is pretty good too and supports ATP
