Hey guys!

I just wanted to know if some enclosures have a minimum hard disk requirement? I'm looking at one of these NAS drives: http://www.mwave.com.au/hdds/nas-hdd-sata?sortid=1&display=list and I'm currently looking at one of these enclosures:

http://www.mwave.com.au/product/lacie-diskless-2big-2-bay-gigabit-nas-enclosure-arm-2ghz-cpu-2000345-aa38019#detailTabs=tabSpecifications

Does this one have any issues with hard drive capacity? Like minimum HD capacity? I understand that it has a 8TB limit.

http://www.mwave.com.au/product/dlink-dns320l-sharecenter-2bay-cloud-network-storage-enclosure-nas-aa38040#detailTabs=tabSpecifications

The above D-Link one states that it requires drives of 3TB and beyond, in total capacity or individual drives? 2x2TB or 1x3TB drive?

Thanks for your time!

The Dlink NAS units are OK at best. The performance is not very good. That model is a 3 year old design. I would recommend you look at the low end models from Qnap, Thecus or Synology. They will be more expensive, but the firmware/OS is updated and performance is higher.
