Hello

What would you people recommend for a NAS-server for storage picture and video.
I'm taking a lot of it with both my mobile and DSLR and i would like to be able to upload them to a hard drive,
And also would like to be able to see them without have to download them just to view them

WD Red.
Seagate Ironwolf.

What specific NAS?
Commercial, or homebuilt something?

I have a QNAP, and with a mapped folder, I can download directly from the camera to space on the NAS.
Along with MANY other things that default save to the NAS.

Right.
That Syn is an example of what I meant by "commercial".

As above, WD Red or Seagate Ironwolf.

I have 4x 4TB Ironwolfs. Been running 24/7 for a few years, zero issues.

As always, backups. Any drive can die at any time. Or other weirdnesses.

Ah okay,
Then I'm looking probably for a commercial one, i want it to be connected to my network and not running through my PC, i want to be able to get access mostly 24/7

Am a totally beginner when it comes to this kind of things

That Synology would probably serve you just fine.
Data that exists on my QNAP is accessible from any system in the house, 24/7.
It holds the movie and music library, collects nightly/weekly backups of the other house systems, long term repository of data, etc, etc.

"get access".
Do you mean from outside your house LAN?

If so, that is a whole different thing, and potentially fraught with security issues.
