I am trying to find the best method for connecting my NAS.

I have my internet coming in through a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router. That Router has 4 ports, one of which connects to a 24 port gigabit unmanaged Ethernet switch.

My primary need is for music and movie storage, accessable from any device in my house or shop. I want to have the ability to share docs and pics etc outside my home network.

My router is only 10/100

I am assuming for best quality of major use I should connect my NAS to my switch. Is there any reason I should consider connecting to my Router?

Plugging the NAS to the switch should allow any devices connected to the switch to have gigabit connection if the devices and NAS support that.
If you replacing your router that will have gigabit ports then it won't matter whether you plug it into your switch or router.

Thanks. That is what I assumed, but I thought I would make sure there was nothing I was missing.
