At 1440p with ray tracing on any setting I was getting frame drops in a few areas consistently but usually only when I loaded into a Site of Grace. This happened particularly at the Caria Manor site near Iji. Then I started 'Shadow of the Erdtree' and oh boy it is tragic, becoming unplayable in the Cerulean Coast as the frames dance up and down which is horrible even with a GSync TV.
Specs:
CPU: i9-14900K @ Intel Extreme setting
GPU: RTX 4080 SUPER FE @ stock
GPU driver: 566.03 (latest)
RAM: 32GB Dominator Titanium RGB @ 7000 MHz CL34
PSU: ROG THOR 850W
Display: LG CX using a HDMI 2.1 cable
It was more or less fine at "Maximum" ray tracing 1440p for the base game but has since become unplayable with RT on for the DLC, and that's sad because it is the finest aesthetics in any Fantasy game I've ever played. Is this just another basura Fromsoft PC port becasue I can't imagine having a 4090 would've made much of a difference considering I can run Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra settings with Path Tracing on at 4K and get 60FPS? I have the card set to "Prefer Maximum Performance" when Elden Ring is launched.
Any idea what on earth is going on here, and are there any potential fixes that might help because the game looks so much better even with ray tracing set to "Low", and my PC should definitely be able to handle this at 1440p, right?
