Hi everyone,
Hope I posted this in the right sub-category.
My Xbox is plugged into an ethernet hub, which is plugged directly to an Arris modem with Comcast service. My Xbox has always had a moderate NAT, and I am trying to open it up. Everything that I have read online deals with routers (I do have a linksys e3000 also plugged into the hub, but not connected to the Xbox, nor would I like it to be), but nothing which can do anything about the actual setting on the modem (I have actually followed steps, outlined in this thread, http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/Linksys-E3000-Open-NAT-settings-for-Xbox-Live/td-p/331669, to change settings on the router, but that didn't work, presumably because my Xbox is not connected to the router.
I don't know much about networking, and a detailed answer would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
TennisTheMenace

What you describe is not possible. Something is missing, the arris is either a combo modem/router, or you have purchased two accounts/ or at the very least 2 ip's.

If you think the arris is a combo modem router try going to 10.0.0.1 and using admin/password to log in. Dorys are utter POS's though.
