My main monitor has a regular PCI connection while my older second monitor (HP w1907s) which has a VGA connection is connected to the PC's HDMI port through a digital adapter. When I initially had this set up I already had problems with the second monitor's native resolution not being listed. I managed to solve it after much pain but I forgot how I did it.
The native resolution 1440x900 should be listed, but it just isn't there, neither in the Windows configuration panel nor in the NVIDIA control panel. I've tried configuring a custom resolution of 1440x900 through the NVIDIA control panel but the screen is distorted.

Some information that might be helpful:
- My GPU is a GTX 1060
- GPU driver is up to date (version 441.20)
- Under "Resolution", the screen is listed as "Optoma XGA"
- The device manager lists two "Generic PnP" monitors. Reinstalling drivers for these did not help.
- Integrated Graphics were disabled through the BIOS.
