Nautilus

I wanted to install Nautilus, but when I went to synaptic, it's already installed.
How can I set it as the default file manager.

Are you sure it's not already the default file manager?

If you open a file manager window and go to Help -> About, it should tell you what you're currently using.

If you're not already on Nautilus, what distribution of Linux are you using, and which window manager (usually GNOME or KDE)?
