Navigation Panel Gone and Some Ribbon Icons Have Turned Black

As the title says my navigation panel has gone missing and some of my ribbon icons have turned back?

Anyone have a suggestion for a fix?

Unfortunately, I couldn't get anything to work. Keep getting Accessed Denied errors all over the place. I restored from a system restore point, to fix the issue.
